I was privileged to have been taught this cake by none other than the fabulous Karen Portaleo from Atlanta Georgia, whom I must confess I am slightly obsessed with.  She is my cake HERO!  And if it weren't enough that she has unparalleled talent for days, she happens to be a fantastic teacher, and a warm and wonderfully funny person to boot.  Dang. Some people just have it in spades!
